Creating Products
Add digital products to your store, configure pricing and delivery, and start selling in minutes.
Adding a new product
To create a product, go to Products in your dashboard sidebar and click the New Product button in the top right. You will be taken to the product editor where you can fill in all the details.
At minimum, every product needs a title, a price, and a product type. Everything else is optional but recommended for a professional storefront.
Product types
Sellvy supports six product types, each with a different delivery method:
Digital Download
Upload a file (ZIP, PDF, image, etc.) that customers receive immediately after purchase. The buyer gets a unique, time-limited download link delivered to their email and shown on the order confirmation page.
License Key
Sell serial keys, activation codes, or account credentials. Add your keys to the stock pool and Sellvy delivers one unique key per order. Keys are never reused.
Subscription
Recurring billing on a weekly, monthly, or yearly cycle. Customers are charged automatically until they cancel. Great for SaaS tools, memberships, and ongoing services.
Service
Manual-fulfillment products like custom design work, consulting sessions, or account setup. There is no automatic delivery; you fulfill the order manually and mark it as completed from your dashboard.
Dynamic Webhook
For advanced use cases where your server generates the deliverable. After purchase, Sellvy calls your webhook URL and delivers whatever your server returns — perfect for unique keys, personalized content, or API-generated assets.
Bundle
Combine multiple products into a single package at a discounted price. Customers receive all included products upon purchase. Great for cross-selling related items and increasing average order value.
Setting prices
Sellvy offers flexible pricing options for every use case:
- •One-time price — A fixed amount the customer pays once. Set your price in any supported currency.
- •Recurring price — For subscription products. Choose a billing interval (weekly, monthly, or yearly) and set the recurring amount.
- •Pay What You Want (PWYW) — Let customers choose their own price. You set a minimum amount (which can be zero for free products) and an optional suggested price. Buyers can pay anything at or above the minimum.
Writing your description
The product description supports a full rich text editor. You can format your content with:
- •Headings, bold, italic, and strikethrough text
- •Bullet lists and numbered lists
- •Links and inline code
- •Blockquotes and horizontal dividers
- •Embedded images
A well-written description helps customers understand exactly what they are buying. Include key features, what is included in the download, system requirements, and any other relevant details.
Product images and files
You can add two types of media to your product:
Product images
Upload screenshots, previews, or promotional images that appear on your product listing. The first image becomes the product thumbnail. Supported formats: JPG, PNG, WebP, and GIF. Recommended size: at least 800x600 pixels.
Deliverable files
For digital download products, upload the file your customers will receive after purchase. Maximum file size is 500 MB. If your product includes multiple files, package them in a single ZIP archive before uploading.
Stock management
Stock management depends on your product type:
- •License Key products — Add keys one per line in the Stock section. Each sale consumes one key. When stock runs out, the product shows as out of stock. You can add more keys at any time.
- •Digital Downloads — Unlimited stock by default since the same file is delivered to every buyer. You can optionally set a stock limit if you want to create scarcity (e.g., limited edition).
- •Services and Subscriptions — Unlimited stock by default. Optionally set a limit to cap how many customers can purchase.
Visibility settings
Control who can see and purchase your product with three visibility levels:
Public
The product appears on your storefront and can be found by anyone. This is the default setting.
Hidden
The product does not appear on your storefront, but anyone with a direct link can still view and purchase it. Useful for exclusive offers, beta access, or products shared only through specific channels.
Private
The product is completely hidden and cannot be purchased. Use this for draft products or to temporarily disable a listing without deleting it.
Organizing with categories
Assign products to categories to keep your storefront organized. Categories appear as filter tabs on your store page, making it easy for customers to browse by type.
You can create and manage categories directly from the product editor or from the Products page in your dashboard. Each product can belong to one category.
Product add-ons
Offer optional extras that customers can add to their purchase at checkout. Add-ons are a great way to increase your average order value.
For example, if you sell a WordPress theme, you could offer add-ons like “Priority support — $10” or “Installation service — $25.”
Each add-on has a name, description, and price. Customers select which add-ons they want during checkout, and the total is adjusted automatically.
